About God: Father, Jesus His Son, and The Holy Spirit

God: is one (Deuteronomy 6:4). There is only one God, the creator and sustainer of all things and He has eternally existed in three coequal persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

Father: God is the Father (Ephesians 4:6). He is the all-powerful sovereign ruler over all things. He is love and has all knowledge and wisdom. In everything He does He acts justly and fairly.

Son: God is the Son (Philippians 2:5-11). Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. He became a man, lived a sinless life, died on the cross to pay the penalty for the sins of mankind, rose from the dead to demonstrate his power over death, and went to Heaven where He will continue to advocate for those who trust Him for salvation until He returns to earth.

Spirit: God is the Holy Spirit (John 14:16-17). The eternal Spirit of God is present in the world to make men aware of their need for forgiveness through Jesus Christ. He also lives in every believer from the moment of salvation, providing those who put their trust in Jesus with strength, peace, understanding of the scriptures and guidance in making life choices.

about our pastor:
Pastor Donnie & Sis. Stacey Compton

The eldest son of Pastor Dr. Emmitt Compton Sr. and Reverend Connie Compton of the Love of God Missionary Baptist Church, Reverend Compton has spent a large majority of his life in the church. He became a member of the Greater Love Missionary Baptist Church early in his teenage years, and has been a devoted member for over 33 years, under the leadership of Pastor John E. Nabors.

He recalls one night while attending Talladega College in Alabama. “I was in my room alone and the spirit came to me in a still small voice. I replied, “Lord whatever you want me to do I will do it.” His reply was, “it’s not time yet.” Some years later, early one Sunday morning while preparing to attend the morning service, Reverend Compton recalls that “something got a hold of me and I just couldn’t hold it in anymore.” I went to church and began to talk to my Pastor. He just wouldn’t let me get a word in, so I did the next best thing. I wrote him a note explaining what happened and what God has in store for me. I got in the car to leave, and found my pastor running to find me with tears running down his face. God was already in the plan.

Reverend Compton received his call into the ministry in the year of 1990, and preached his first sermon on December 9th, 1990 at the Greater Love M.B Church. The title of the sermon was “What is a Friend” from John 15:13. After delivering his first sermon, Reverend Compton received his license to preach the Gospel. On July 22nd, 1995 under the leadership and watchful eye of Pastor John E. Nabors, Reverend Compton was set aside and ordained into the ministry.

Since that time God has shown favor over Reverend Compton and opened doors that have allowed him to further his knowledge in the ministry. On June 22nd, 2014, he received a Master of Divinity from the Destiny of Hope Evangelical Bible Institute, and received his Doctorate of Theology in June 13th, 2015.

God has blessed Rev Compton with a loving wife (Stacey) for over 30 years and still counting. To this union two children were born, Devin and Sariah Compton.

During his free time Reverend Compton has been on the board of the Aurora Superstar youth football league. As well as an assistant coach. He also coached his daughter’s traveling basketball league for many years. He has a love for children becoming the best at what ever their dreams are. He also has a love of golfing, cooking & baking and spending time with family.

His favorite scripture is John 15:13; Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

“I really love that God has placed this Pastorship into my charge. I’m truly grateful for what God is doing in my life and being used as his servant.”

Prayer comes with the blessing of knowing that we are not alone.  Remember, you have been assigned a Prayer Partner! There are times when we are lonely, frustrated or just need someone here in the physical to simply listen. We should always think of others in the body of Christ and remember that we have been assigned a Prayer Partner!

Have you checked on them? Are they in need? Is everything ok?  Are they in need of prayer?

Remember to connect with them, reach out and check on them, share with them, and above all pray with them!
